According to José Macedonio Urquidi, Cochabamba is an original name of Quechua "kjocha" which means puddle or lagoon and "pampa" plain or flat ground.

The climate of the Cochabamba Valley is the most ideal of all Bolivia, since it is stable and constantly temperate, varies from winter to summer, but without extremes, as it happens in the other cities of the country, the climate varies between 10º C to 30ºC .
